"The more you invest in a marriage, the more valuable it becomes." --Amy Grant
In today's times, couples constantly talk about prenuptial agreements and wedding insurance before exchanging their "I Do's," but is it necessary? Why has society become so protective over what was once regarded as a simple yet meaningful publicly-made promise to one another?
Frankly, the answer lies in the expense of getting married. In the past, marriages simply did not cost the tens of thousands of dollars that they cost today. And as a result, people want what they pay for. Can you honestly blame them? For example, if you pay three hundred dollars for a bouquet of pink flowers, you most certainly want them to be pink - not red or purple or blue. If you shell out four grand for a videographer, you most certainly want a high quality video of the most important day of your life - not a low-quality wedding commercial. And if you spend even more on the rent for a building, you certainly don't want any of your family, your friends, and your other guests to get injured in that building.
As you can see, things can go wrong. Wedding insurance increases the chances that your wedding will turn out as planned or at the very least, compensate you for things that you weren't able to use or enjoy because of mishaps. Similar to other insurance policies, wedding insurance policies promise of the reimbursement of losses and are usually purchased by people who have legitimate reason to believe their wedding may be subject to adverse predicaments. To protect themselves, they pre-pay a wedding insurance company in order to cover the things that they've invested in.
These are things like:
wedding dresses, bridesmaids gowns, and tuxedos invitations catering rentals entertainment wedding gifts flowers, and more
Just like any other type of insurance, wedding insurance is offered in a number of different policies. Each wedding insurance policy covers a specific potential mishap, such as an accident, adverse weather, damage, theft, or loss. To submit a claim and benefit from wedding insurance, couples must first file a police report (regarding an accident, theft, or loss) and then submit a signed affidavit.
Upon investigation by the wedding insurance company, a couple seeking damages will either be awarded the amount of the policy that they purchased, or they will be denied.
